| Das
Weltcup Skigebiet Levi befindet sich im nördlichen Finnland. Als einzige
Erhebung ragt der Berg Levi 531m in die Höhe und ist von allen Seiten mit
Liften erschlossen. Vom Ort Levikeskus erschliessen vier Schlepplifte
einen mittelschweren Hang. Nimmt man den Lift Nr. 3 Marjalaki so kann man
weiter ueber eine leichte Piste bis hinunter zur Sechsergondelbahn Levi
2000 gleiten. Die Gondelbahn (nördlichste kuppelbare Bahn der Welt)
bringt einen hinauf bis zum Gipfel und hier oben startet die schwere
Weltcup-Abfahrt hinunter zur Gondelbahn, man kann auch über mittelschwere
Abfahrten hinunter zum Tieva-Schlepplift wedeln, oder zu den Liften in
Etelärinteet. Der lange Schlepplift Etelärinne zieht einen wieder hinauf
Richtung Gipfel. Nun kann man entweder über sehr leichte, breite
Waldschneisenabfahrten hinunter zum Schlepplift Sammu gleiten, oder aber
auch mit dem Schlepplift Utsuvaara wieder bis ganz auf den Gipfel und dann
zu den steileren Abfahrten hinunter nach Koillisrinteet, von wo man mit
weiteren Schleppliften wieder ins Gebiet gelangt. Ueber einen langen
Ziehweg, vorbei an einigen Schleppliften gelangt man schliesslich wieder
nach Levikeskus. Sehr zu empfehlen sind auch die Abfahrten an den
Schleppliften Vesirikka-autto und Tunneli. Kurz gesagt bietet der Skiberg
Levi bestens präparierte und ausgeschilderte Abfahrten für Familien und
auch für Fortgeschrittene, sehr steile Abfahrten findet man in Levi
leider nicht. Zum Einkehren stehen vier Restaurants im Gebiet zur Verfügung und einige nette kleine
Hütten zum Ausruhen. Après-Ski gibt
es auch und zwar zu empfehlen sind das Restaurant Vainkkari und das
Restaurant Tuikku von ca. 14 bis 18 Uhr.
The World Cup ski resort Levi is in northern Finland. The mountain Levi rises up to 531m and is opened from all sides with lifts. From the village Levikeskus four t-bars open up intermediate slopes. If you take the lift no. 3 Marjalaki in such a way you can reach the six person gondola Levi 2000 via an easy slope. The gondola (northernmost high speed gondola of the world) brings you up up to the summit and there starts the advanced world cup run back down to the gondola, you can also swing via intermediate runs down to the Tieva t-bar, or to the t-bars in Etelaerinteet. The long t-bar Etelaerinne takes you up to the summit again. Now you can slide either over very easy, wide forest aisles down to the t-bar Sammu, or in addition, with the t-bar Utsuvaara again up to the summit and then to the steeper runs down to Koillisrinteet, from where two other t-bars bring you up to the peak again. Over a long flat way, passing some t-bars you arrive finally again in Levikeskus. Very nice are the runs at the t-bars Vesirikka autto and Tunneli. To make a long story short: the ski mountain Levi offers best prepared and well marked runs for families and also for advanced skiers, but very steep runs you will not find in Levi. For a break you can choose between four restaurants in the area or some nice small huts for resting. The best Après-Ski are at restaurant Vainkkari and at restaurant Tuikku from approx. 2 pm to 6 pm. |
