WELTREKORD! 3 Skigebiete auf 2 Kontinenten an 1 Tag auf beiden Seiten des Pazifiks Am 06.02.2008 bin ich auf beiden Seiten des Pazifiks Ski gefahren - von Japan in die USA bis nach Kanada an 1 Tag... 3RD WORLD RECORD! 3 ski resorts on 2 continents on 1 day on both sides of the Pacific On 6th February 2008 I skied on both sides of the Pacific - from Japan to the USA and Canada...

Nach dem 1. Weltrekord mit 3 Skigebieten auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks an 1 Tag und dem 2. Weltrekord mit 52 verschiedenen Skiliften an 1 Tag ist nun der 3. Weltrekord gelungen. Am 06.02.2008 war es soweit. An einem Tag über die Pisten in Japan, den USA und Kanada fegen - auf beiden Seiten des Pazifiks Skifahren – der Plan ist aufgegangen! Gutes Timing, gute Verbindungen, Ausdauer und etwas Glück haben den 3. Weltrekord gelingen lassen. Leider nicht so wie geplant, aber dennoch geschafft...		After the 1^st world record with 3 ski resorts on both sides of the Atlantic on 1 day and the 2^nd world record with 52 different ski lifts on 1 day the 3^rd world record is succeeded. On 6^th February 2008, Oliver Kern, international experienced ski resort tester of Skiresort Service International skied on 1 day on the slopes in Japan, the USA and Canada - 3 ski resorts in 3 countries on 2 different continents on 1 day on both sides of the Pacific.
6.10 Uhr - Der Wecker klingelt im The New Otani Hotel Naspa in Japan 7.01 Uhr - Koffer sind gepackt, geduscht und im Skianzug geht es hinunter zur Rezeption und ab auf die Piste im Skigebiet von Naspa Ski Garden...	Die Ski sind bereit The skis are ready		6.10 a.m. - the alarm clock is ringing in the New Otani Hotel Naspa in Japan 7.01 a.m. - suitcases are packed, showered and in the ski dress down to the front desk and on the slopes at Naspa Ski Garden

8.12 Uhr - Mit dem Hotelbus geht es in knapp 10 Minuten zum Echigo-Yuzawa Bahnhof 8.12 a.m. - the hotel bus takes us in nearly 10 minutes to Echigo-Yuzawa station	vor dem New Otani Naspa in front of the New Otani Naspa		die Ski werden eingepackt the skis are packed
8.33 Uhr - Pünktlich fährt der Shinkansen Toki Nr. 308 Superexpress Richtung Tokio ab 8.33 a.m. - punctually depart the Shinkansen Toki No. 308 Super Express direction to Tokyo	bald fährt der Zug the train departs soon		der Shinkansen fährt ein the Shinkansen arrives
9.58 Uhr - Die 210 km wurden mit Geschwindigkeiten von knapp 300 km/h in windeseile zurückgelegt und schon ist Tokyo Uneo erreicht 10.40 Uhr - Weiter geht es mit einem viel langsameren Zug, dem Skyliner Express zum Flughafen Narita 9.58 a.m. - the 210 km (approx. 130 miles), with speeds of nearly 300 km/h (apprx. 190 miles/h), are done in a short time and we have reached Uneo station 10.40 a.m. - continue with a much slower train, the Skyliner Express to Narita Airport	11.44 Uhr - Ankunft am Flughafen und ab zum Check In 12.01 Uhr - Die Maschine hat aufgrund des Wetters 3,5 Std. Verspätung - der Anschlussflug nach Seattle kann in Seoul somit nicht erreicht werden! 11.44 a.m. - arrival at the airport and to the check-in in the upper level 12.01 p.m. - the plane had a delay of 3,5 hours due to the weather - we are not able to catch the connection flight to Seattle in Seoul!		12.14 Uhr - Es gibt einen Direktflug mit Northwest und United von Tokio nach Seattle 12.34 Uhr - Endlich, die Tickets für den United Airlines Flug nach Seattle wurden genehmigt und die Koffer und Ski eingecheckt - nun heisst es Warten... 16.32 Uhr - Boarding abgeschlossen, es kann losgehen. 16.51 Uhr - Die Boeing 777 hebt mit Ziel Seattle ab 12.14 p.m. - there is a direct flight with Northwest and United Airlines from Tokyo to Seattle, too 12.34 p.m. - finally, the tickets for the United Airlines flight to Seattle are approved... 4.32 p.m. - boarding completed, taxi to the runway 4.51 p.m. - the Boeing 777 takes off with destination Seattle
7.38 Uhr - Dank der Zeitverschiebung kommt die Maschine viel eher in Seattle an als sie überhaupt gestartet ist. Während des langen Fluges über den Pazifik blieb genügend Zeit sich auszuruhen und das Essen zu geniessen - in der Maschiene waren keine 50 Leute... 9.39 Uhr - fast 2 Stunden haben die Einreiseformalitaeten gedauert! 9.45 Uhr - Endlich alles im Auto und es kann Richtung The Summit at Snoqualmie losgehen 11.15 Uhr - Ankunft in Alpental - am The Summit at Snoqualmie werden die ersten Schwünge gemacht, es schneit und es liegen über 4 Meter Schnee - die letzten Tage war das Skigebiet aufgrund des Neuschnees gesperrt...	Ankunft im Alpental arrival at Alpental die erste Auffahrt the first approach		7.38 a.m. - thanks to the time difference, the aircraft arrives earlier in Seattle than started in Tokyo. During the long flight over the Pacific was enough time to rest and to enjoy the food on board- in the plane were not more than 50 people... 9.39 a.m. - nearly 2 hours for immigration, oversize luggage (ski) and luggage 9.45 a.m. - the luggage and skis are in the car - start to The Summit at Snoqualmie 11.15 a.m. - arrival in Alpental - at The Summit at Snoqualmie we ski the first turns and it is snowing. More than 4 meter of snow - the last days the ski area and the pass were closed due to the huge amount of snowfall - we were lucky that everything was open on 6^th February 2008.

12.44 Uhr - endlich am Central Snoqualmie 14.11 Uhr - Ein gutes Dutzend Lifte sind in dem Skigebiet abgefahren 12.44 p.m. - arrival at Central Summit at Snoqualmie - nice runs in fresh powder snow 2.11 p.m. - we skied nearly all open ski lifts in the ski area	endlich am Summit Central at last the Summit Central		14.15 Uhr - Es geht nun gute 300 km über die Grenze nach Kanada zum Endpunkt der Reise - nach Vancouver 17.01 Uhr - am Zoll nach Kanada 2.15 p.m. - it is now a good 200 miles drive via the border to Canada to the end of the journey with final destination Vancouver 5.01 p.m. - immigration to Canada
19.11 Uhr - An der Talstation der Grouse Mountain Seilbahn, der Berufsverkehr durch Vancouver hat doch mehr Zeit als eingeplant gebraucht, ausserdem hat es bis nach Vancouver hinunter geschneit...	Ankunft am Grouse Mountain arrival at Grouse Mountain		7.11 p.m. - at the base of the Grouse Mountain aerial tram, a lot of traffic through Vancouver
gleich fährt die Seilbahn the ropeway starts soon	19.22 Uhr - Auffahrt mit der Seilbahn hinauf ins Skigebiet leider ist der herrliche Blick auf das nächtliche Vancouver durch den starken Schneefall nicht möglich... 7.22 p.m. - approach with the cable car up to the ski area - due to the storm and heavy snowfall it is not possible to enjoy the fantastic nightly view to Downtown Vancouver		Schneefall und Nebel snow and fog
Es liegen 5 Meter Schnee am Grouse Mountain und es schneit und stürmt...			They have about 5 meters of snow - the weather is foggy with snowfall and strong winds
20.35 Uhr - Alle offenen Lifte am Grouse Mountain sind abgefahren und der Weltrekord ist gelungen... 8.35 p.m. - all open ski lifts were skied and the new world record is succeeded!	Der Weltrekord ist geschafft the world record is done		21.32 Uhr - Check in im Fairmont Hotel Waterfront in Vancouver 21.45 Uhr - ein entspanntes Bad im Whirlpool und danach ab zum Essen... 9.32 p.m. - check in at the Fairmont Hotel Waterfront in Vancouver 9.45 p.m. - a relaxing bath in the whirlpool and then in the next restaurant for a nice dinner...
Es ist geschafft, 3 Skigebiete in 3 Ländern auf 2 Kontinenten an 1 Tag. Nach dem 1. Weltrekord mit 3 Skigebieten auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks an 1 Tag und dem 2. Weltrekord mit 52 verschiedenen Liften an 1 Tag ist nun der 3. Weltrekord gelungen! Wir bedanken uns auch bei Lufthansa, die uns bequem, pünktlich und sicher wieder nach München gebracht hat...		It is done, 3 ski areas in 3 countries on 2 continents to 1 day on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. After the 1^st world record with 3 ski areas on both sides of the Atlantic on 1 day and the 2^nd world record with 52 different ski lifts on 1 day is now the 3^rd world record succeeded! Thank you very much also to Lufthansa, which brought us conveniently, on time and safe back to Munich
