| Das
Beaver Creek Village mit seinen feinen Hotels und Restaurants ist das Herz
des Skigebietes. Mit den kuppelbaren Vierersesselbahnen Centennial Express
und Cinch Express gelangt man von 2469m über die Mittelstation Spruce
Saddle Lodge hinauf zum Gipfel auf 3488m. Gute tausend Höhenmeter liegen
nun vor einem mit herrlichen breiten Waldabfahrten aller
Schwierigkeitsgrade wieder hinunter nach Beaver Creek Village. Ein
Abstecher in die Rose Bowl lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, denn hier warten
unter anderem Buckelpisten und die Stone Creek Chutes (steile
Waldabfahrten). Die Dreiersesselbahn Rose Bowl und im Anschluss die
Doppelsesselbahn Drink of Water schaukeln einen dann wieder auf den
Gipfel. Weitere Abfahrten führen hinüber zum Red Tail Camp von wo die kuppelbare Vierersesselbahn Birds of Prey wieder Richtung Gipfel führt und man kann von dort auch mit den kuppelbaren Vierersesselbahnen auf den Grouse Mountain (3258m) und die Larkspur Bowl (3161m) schweben. Am Grouse Mountain findet man herrliche Buckelpisten vor und zwischen Birds of Prey, Grouse Mountain und Larkspur Bowl befinden sich die schweren Abfahrten, The Talons genannt, die jedes Könnerherz höher schlagen lassen. Von der Larkspur Bowl kann man über die leichte Abfahrt Primrose, vorbei am Strawberry Park Express, von Beaver Creek Village kommend, hinüber zum Bachelor Gulch Mountain und Arrowhead Mountain wechseln. Das Skigebiet Arrowhead Mountain war seit 1988 ein eigenes Skigebiet und wurde 1997 durch den neuen Bachelor Gulch Express an das Skigebiet von Beaver Creek angeschlossen. Der Arrowhead Bahn Express erschliesst zumeist leichte bis mittelschwere Abfahrten auf dem leicht bewaldeten Berg. Man kann hier unzählige Möglichkeiten finden um hinunter ins Arrowhead Village (2255m) zu schwingen. Der perfekte Berg für Genuss-Skifahrer und Famillien. Vom Arrowhead Mountain (2774m) geht es über mehrere leichte Abfahrten hinunter nach Bachelor Gulch (2469m) und mit der kuppelbaren Vierersesselbahn Bachelor Gulch Express bis auf 2914m hinauf. Die beiden kuppelbaren Vierersesselbahnen Lower und Upper Beaver Creek Mountain Express bringen die Wintersportler vom Beaver Creek Landing und den Parkplätzen (in Zukunft auch vom Riverfront Village) in das Skigebiet und man kann an der Mittelstation, welche etwas oberhalb von Bachelor Gulch gelegen ist, mit dem Upper Beaver Creek Express hinauf zum Strawberry Park, von wo man entlang des Strawberry Park Expresses über breite Abfahrten nach Beaver Creek Village abfahren kann. Ein Förderband hilft beim Überqueren der Strasse im Ort. Man kann aber auch in die Larkspur Bowl einfahren und mit dem Birds of Prey Express wieder Richtung Summit fahren. Das gesamte Gebiet von Beaver Creek bietet Abfahrten aller Schwierigkeitsgrade auf herrlich präparierten Pisten, Buckelpisten und durch Wälder, hier kommt jeder auf seine Kosten. Auch Kulinarisch wird viel geboten, denn gepflegte Restaurants stehen in Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch und Arrowhead Village an den Talstationen zur Verfügung und man kann auch am Berg in der Spruce Saddle Lodge und im Red Tail Camp mit Schirmbar speisen. Weitere exklusive Hütten, aber nur mit vorheriger Reservierung, sind im Gebiet verteilt, hier muss man allerdings etwas tiefer in den Geldbeutel greifen. Für Anfänger gibt es einige flache Pisten am Gipfel und auch die sehr leichte Cinch Abfahrt wieder nach Beaver Creek Village, wo noch die Doppelsesselbahn Highlands und die neue Achtergondelbahn Buckaroo Express surren. Es sind auch einige Förderbänder vorhanden wo die ganz kleinen den Wintersport spielerisch erlernen können, wie z.B. im Beaver Creek Village oder Bachelor Gulch... The Beaver Creek Village (8100 ft.) with its fine hotels and restaurants is the heart of the ski resort. With the high speed quads Centennial Express and Cinch Express you can reach the summit at an elevation of 11440 ft. via the mid station Spruce Saddle Lodge. Now you have more than 3300 ft. vertical to ski and ride via excellent runs of all levels of difficulty down to Beaver Creek Village. It is also worth to make a side trip into the Rose Bowl, as there are waiting some nice mogul runs as well as the Stone Creek Chutes (expert gladed runs). The triple chair Rose Bowl and in connection the double chair Drink of Water take you back to the summit again. More runs lead over to the Red Tail Camp from where the high speed quad Birds of Prey guide back to the summit and with the other high speed quads you can reach the Grouse Mountain (10688 ft.) and Larkspur Bowl (10370 ft.). At Grouse Mountain you find fantastic mogul runs and The Talons is Beaver Creek´s most advanced terrain extending from the Birds of Prey and Grouse Mountain to Larkspur Bowl. From top of Larkspur Bowl you can take the easy run Primrose, over the Strawberry Park Express, coming from Beaver Creek Village, across to Bachelor Gulch Mountain and Arrowhead Mountain. The ski resort Arrowhead Mountain was a ski resort of its own since 1988 and with the new high speed quad Bachelor Gulch Express in 1997 Beaver Creek merged it into one large resort. The Arrowhead Bahn Express open up mostly easy to intermediate terrain on the mountain with light trees. You find a lot of possibilities to ski or ride down to the Arrowhead Village (7400 ft.). This is the perfect mountain for indulgence skiing and for families. From top of Arrowhead Mountain (9100 ft.) you can ski or ride via easy runs down to Bachelor Gulch (8100 ft.) and with the Bachelor Gulch Express again up to an elevation of 9560 ft. The two high speed quads Lower and Upper Beaver Creek Mountain Express take the sportsmen from Beaver Creek Landing and the parking lots (in the future from Riverfron Village, too) up to the ski resort. At the mid station, located upside of Bachelor Gulch, you can take the Upper Beaver Creek Express up to Strawberry Park and then ski or ride along the Strawberry Park Express down to Beaver Creek Village. A carpet lift help you to cross the street. You can also ski or ride via Larkspur Bowl to the Birds of Prey Express which lifts you up to the summit. The hole resort of Beaver Creek offers runs of all levels of difficulies on very well groomed runs, mogul slopes and gladed run. A lot of cultivated restaurants are located at the base stations of Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead Village. On the mountain you can go to the Spruce Saddle Lodge or to the Red Tail Camp with umbrella bar. More luxury mountain huts are on the mountain but they require reservations and the pricing is on a high level. For beginners there are a lot of runs at the summit as well as the very easy slope Cinch back to Beaver Creek Village, where the double chair Highlands and the new eight person gondola Buckaroo Express open up more easy terrain. Some carpet lifts are also in the resort, where the kids can learn skiing or riding very easy, e.g. in Beaver Creek Village or Bachelor Gulch... |
