Das kleine Skigebiet vom
Leavenworth Ski Hill befindet sich am Ortsrand der bayrischen Stadt
Leavenworth und ist über den Ski Hill Drive leicht zu erreichen. Von
Seattle sind es knapp 200 km und die Berge rund um den Ort erreichen
Höhen von über 2400m. Es gibt gerade einmal 4 Seillifte, die leichte und
kurze Pisten erschliessen. Auf der linken Seite befindet sich der
Tubing-Lift und auch der längste Seillift
(ca. 300m) in dem Gebiet. Auf der rechten Seite
erschliessen 2 weitere Seillifte einen leichten Hang. Gesamtlänge
der Pisten beträgt knapp 1 Kilometer und diese sind bis auf ein paar
Meter am langen Seillift alle leicht. Ein ideales Gelände für Kinder
oder um das Skifahren zu erlernen. Wer
höher hinauf möchte kann innerhalb von 1 Stunde das Skigebiet am Stevens
Pass oder Mission Ridge
erreichen. Zusätzlich zu den kleinen Pisten wird hier Nachtskifahren, Tubing, Langlauf und eine kleine Sprungschanze angeboten. Leavenworth ist Washington´s Bavarian Village und so ist in dem netten Ort fast alles in bayerischem Stil erbaut - die Hotels, Häuser, Geschäfte und auch die Restaurants - man bekommt hier Münchner Bier vom Fass, Bratwürstel, Schnitzel und Schweinshaxen... The small ski area Leavenworth Ski Hill is located at the edge of the Bavarian village of Leavenworth and is easy to reach via the Ski Hill Drive. About 118 miles from Seattle with mountains up to 2400m around the village. There are 4 rope tows and a few short and easy runs. On the left side is the tubing lift as well as the longest rope tow (approx. 300m) in the area. On the right side are two more rope tows and an easy slope. All the slopes together are almost 1 kilometer long and very easy, except the first meters at the long rope tow. An ideal area for children or to learn skiing. If you like larger resorts you can reach the ski resort at Stevens Pass or Mission Ridge with 1 hour. In addition to alpine skiing the ski hill offers night skiing, tubing, cross country and a small ski jump. Leavenworth is Washington´s Bavarian Village and nearly all the hotels, houses, shops and restaurants are decorated in Bavarian style and they offer Munich beer from tab, bratwurst, schnitzel and knuckles of pork... |
