| Vom Ort Glacier fährt man noch ca. 30 Minuten hinauf in das
Skigebiet Mt. Baker. Parkplätze befinden sich an der White Salmon Day Lodge oder etwas
weiter oben an der Heather Meadows Day Lodge. Von der White Salmon Day Lodge fährt man
mit der Vierersesselbahn Chair 7 hinauf und kann dann über eine sehr leichte Piste zur
Vierersesselbahn Chair 8 gleiten, die einen dann bis unterhalb des Shuksan Arm, knapp
über 1500m hinaufschaukelt. Über mittelschwere Abfahrten schwingt man dann, vorbei an
der Bergstation der Vierersesselbahn Chair 4.5, vom Raven Café kommend,
hinunter zum Chair 8, der White Salmon Day Lodge oder zum Raven Café, wo Chair 4.5
wieder hinauf Richtung Shuksan Arm fährt, Chair 3 Richtung Heather Meadows Day Lodge
führt und Chair 6 direkt bis hinauf auf den 1525m hohen Panorama Dome führt. Eine sehr
schwere Abfahrt, die Grabl´s führt direkt unterhalb Chair 4.5 zu Tale. Vom Panorama Dome führen schwere Abfahrten hinunter zur Heather Meadows Day Lodge und zum Raven Café. Eine der schwersten Abfahrten, The Chute führt direkt unterhalb der Doppelsesselbahn Chair 8, die von der Heather Meadows Lodge über eine Mittelstation auch auf den Panorama Dome führt. Sehr zu empfehlen sind auch die Abfahrten durch den Razorhone Canyon hinunter zum Raven Café. Rund um die Heather Meadows Day Lodge gibt es sehr leichte Pisten, die von einer Vierersesselbahn, dem Chair 2 bedient werden. Um von hier Richtung White Salmon Day Lodge zu gelangen nimmt man Chair 3 bis zu Mittelstation und kann dann zum Raven Café über leichte bis schwere Abfahrten hinunterschwingen. Mit Chair 4 und 5 und einer mittelschweren Abfahrt gelangt man dann schliesslich wieder zur White Salmon Day Lodge. Für Anfänger befindet sich je ein Rope Tow nahe der White Salmon Day Lodge und Heather Meadows Day Lodge... From Galcier-Village you have to drive about 30 minutes up to the ski resort Mt.Baker. Ski resort parking-lots are at the White Salmon Day Lodge or at Heather Meadows Day Lodge. From White Salmon Day Lodge you can take the quad Chair 7 and get access to Chair 8, after a very easy run. The quad Chair 8 lifts you up to Shuksan Arm, fairly above 1500m. Through medium runs you swing by the top-stations of the quad Chair 4.5 back to White Salmon Day Lodge or to Raven Café, where you can take Chair 4.5 up to Shuksan Arm, Chair 3 to Heather Meadows Day Lodge or Chair 6 which lifts you up to the Panorama Dome at 1525m. A very difficult run, the “Grabl´s” leads you directly under Chair 4.5 downhill. From Panorama Dome there are a few difficult runs to Heather Meadows Day Lodge and Raven Café. One of the most difficult (experts only) “The Chute” is directly under Chair 8, which has over a middle-station, access to the Panorama Dome too. The runs through the Razorhone Canyon to the Raven Café are very nice too. Around Heather Meadows Day Lodge there are very easy runs, served by a quad (Chair 2). To get back to White Salmon Day Lodge from here you can take Chair 3 to his middle-station, over easy or difficult runs to Raven Café and then with Chair 4 or 5 and a medium run to White Salmon Day Lodge. For Beginners there are rope tows near White Salmon Day Lodge and Heather Meadows Day Lodge… |
