der Traum eines jeden Wintersportlers - bestens praeparierte Abfahrten
aller Schwierigkeitsgrade auf der Front Side und unendliche Tiefschneehänge in den
legendären Back Bowls und im Blue Sky Basin. Man
kann vom Vail Village, Lionshead und von Cascade Village in das Skigebiet
einsteigen. Vom Vail Village/Golden Peak führt entweder die kuppelbare
Vierersesselbahn Riva Express über eine Mittelstation hinauf zur
Northwest Bowl oder die kuppelbare Vierersesselbahn Vista
Bahn Express nach Mid-Vail. Im Anschluss daran surren jeweils weitere
kuppelbare Vierersesselbahnen hinauf zum Patrol Headquarters auf 3430m
oder zum Wildwood auf 3347m. Unzählige Abfahrten führen talwärts, die
Eine schöner als die Andere. Nimmt man die 12-Personen Eagle Bahn Gondola
von Lionshead aus, gelangt man hinauf zu Eagle´s Nest. Wenn man mit der
Vierersesselbahn von Cascade Village in das Gebiet schwebt, so kann man
entweder hinunter zur Eagle Bahn Gondola oder mit der kuppelbaren
Vierersesselbahn Pride Express hinauf zum Eagle´s Nest. Herrliche, breite
Abfahrten, von leicht bis schwer fuehren hinunter nach Lionshead und ein
Ziehweg auch wieder nach Cascade Village. Eine leichte Abfahrt fuehrt vom
Eagle´s Nest in die Game Creek Bowl, von wo man mit der kuppelbaren
Vierersesselbahn Game Creek Express ebenfalls zum Wildwood hinaufgelangt.
Nun kann man sich in die Back Bowls stürzen! Über schwere Abfahrten geht
es hinunter zum High Noon Dreiersessellift, der dann zu den Patrol
Headquarters hinaufführt. Von hier können auch weniger Fortgeschrittene
über die leichte Abfahrt Sleepytime in das erst 2000 eröffnete Blue Sky
Basin schwingen. Die kuppelbare Vierersesselbahn Skyline Express bringt
einen zu unendlichen Tiefschneeabfahrten durch Wald und freie Skihänge.
Die weiteren Bowls, Pete´s und Earl´s Bowl werden ebenfalls durch die
gleichnamigen kuppelbaren Vierersesselbahnen erschlossen. Die Bergstation
des Pete´s Express Liftes ist der höchste Punkt im Skigebiet von Vail
(3527m). Zurück zur Front Side geht es entweder mit dem Tea Cup Express
oder dem Orient Express, beides kuppelbare Vierersesselbahnen. Von der
Bergstation des Orient Expresses kann man durch die Siberia Bowl und mit
Hilfe des Schleppliftes Mongolia noch weiter hinüber zur Inner Mongolia
Bowl und Outer Mongolia Bowl, alles freier Skiraum und traumhafte
Tiefschneeabfahrten... Nach dem Skifahren kann man in Vail, der Ort ist übrigens ganz im bayerischen Stil gehalten, noch Bummeln gehen. Schweinebraten, Bratwurst, Leberkäse und Käsespätzle stehen ebenso auf der Speisekarte, wie richtige Steaks... Vail wurde zu den TOP-Resorts 2002/2003 gewählt! Vail, the dream of every winter sport freak - very well groomed runs at the Front Side and endless powder runs in the legendary back bowls and in the Blue Sky Basin. You can take the lifts from Vail Village, Lionshead and from Cascade Village up to the ski resort. From Vail Village/Golden Peak leads the high speed quad Riva Express via a mid station up to the Northwest Bowl or the high speed quad Vista Bahn Express to Mid-Vail. Following you can take sveral high speed quads up to Patrol Headquaters (3430m) or to Wildwood (3347m). Innumerable runs leads back down to Vail, the one nicer than the other. If you take the 12 person Eagle Bahn Gondola from Lionshead you reach the Eagle´s Nest. From the Cascade Village a quad takes you up to the ski area and in addition you can ski down to the Eagle Bahn Gondola or you can take the high speed quad Pride Express up to Eagle´s Nest. Very nice, wide slopes from easy to advanced leads back to Vail and a very easy slope back to Cascade Village. An easy slope takes you from Eagle´s Nest into the game Creek Bowl, the high speed quad Game Creek Express takes you likewise up to Wildwood. Now it is time to ski the legendary back bowls. Advanced runs leads down to the High Noon triple chair which brings you to the Patrol Headquaters. From here also beginners and intermediate skiers or riders can go into the Blue Sky Basin, which opend in January 2000. The high speed quad Skyline Express brings you to fresh powder runs and free ski space. The Pete´s and Earl´s Bowl has been made available with 2 high speed quads and there are fantastic runs at this lifts. The top station of the Pete´s Express lift is the highest lifted point in the Vail ski resort (3527m). Back to the front side you can take one of the high speed quads Tea Cup Express or Orient Express. From the top station of the Orient Express you can ski down into the Siberia Bowl and if you take the t-bar Mongolia you can ski the Inner Mongolia Bowl and the Outer Mongolia Bowl, too. Here ypu can enjoy free ski space with very nice powder... After skiing or riding you can enjoy the nice Vail Village, a small town in bavarian style. They serve Schweinebraten, Bratwurst, Leberkaese and Kaesespaetzle as well a an original steak... Vail was voted to one of the TOP-Resorts 2002/2003! |
