| Die
85m hohe Skihalle befindet sich an der Sheikh Zayed Road unweit vom
Jumeirah Beach gelegen. Vor der Skihalle thront das neue 5-Sterne Kempinski
Hotel Mall of the Emirates, das auch Ski Chalets anbietet - mit Blick
auf die Piste versteht sich. Vom Hotel und der Mall of the Emirates, eines der größten Einkaufszentren in Dubai, kann man direkt in die Skihalle Ski Dubai gehen. Man kann auch von den Restaurants im Hotel das Getümmel auf den Pisten beobachten. Man erhält alles, von Ski oder Snowboards, Stöcke, Schuhe und Skianzug. Mütze und Handschuhe kann man direkt vor Ort kaufen, oder man nimmt sie sich einfach mit. In der Skihalle führt eine Vierersesselbahn über eine Mittelstation mit Kurve hinauf zu den Pisten. Im oberen Teil sind die Pisten eher schwer und so können die Anfänger an der Mittelstation auch aus der Sesselbahn aussteigen. Hier gibt es eine gemütliche Hütte, das sogenannte Avalanche Café. Die von oben rechte Piste ist die schwerste Piste und die steilste Abfahrt in einer Skihalle. Der Tellerlift Mall of the Emirates führt ebenfalls vom Talbereich auf der linken Seite der Halle hinauf zu den Pisten. Von der Mittelstation talwärts sind die Pisten sehr leicht und bis zu 80m breit. An der Talstation gibt es mehrere Förderbänder, so das die Anfängerbereiche auch perfekt erschlossen sind. Ein weiteres Highlight ist der Snow Park direkt im unteren Teil der Halle, wo man rutschen, spielen und rodeln kann. Auch gastronomisch wird hier einiges geboten und man kann von vielen Restaurants des Kempinski Hotels direkt auf die Pisten blicken. Die Temperatur wird hier auf -2 bis -4 Grad gehalten und man sollte sich wirklich warm anziehen, denn Temperaturunterschiede vom über 50 Grad zwischen drinnen und draussen sind hier keine Seltenheit. 7000 kostenlose Parkplätze stehen den Gästen an der Skihalle zur Verfügung. The indoor skiing area with a height of 85m is located at the Sheikh Zayed Road near the Jumeirah beach. In front of the complex is the new 5-star Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, where you can book Ski Chalets with view to the slopes. From the Hotel and the Mall of the Emirates, one of the largest shopping center in Dubai, you can walk within minutes to the entrance of the indoor skiing area. You can watch from the restaurants of the hotel the people on the slopes. If you go skiing or riding you recieve everything you need - clothing boots, skis, snowboards. Hat and gloves can be purchased at the entrance or you can take your own equipment with you. A quad takes the skiers and riders via a mid station with curve up to the slopes. In the upper section the slopes are steeper and so the beginners can exit the chair lift at the mid station. Here is a nice hut, called Avalanche Café. The slope on the right side, seen from the top is the steepest run in an indoor ski area. The j-bar Mall of the Emirates is located at the left side and takes the skiers and riders to the top, too. A 90m long quater pipe is in the upper section especially for snowboarders. From the mid station downwards the slopes are easy and up to 80m wide. Near the base station are some people movers for the very easy slopes so the beginners can learn here the first sweeps. Another highlight is the Snow Park in the lowest part of the indoor area, where you can glide, play and tobbogan. There are a lot of nice restaurants at the Kempinski hotel where you can eat very well with a nice view to the slopes. The temperature is between -2 and -4 degrees and we recommend that you wear warm clothes, because the difference between inside and outside temperature can be more than 50 degrees. 7000 free parking lots are next to the complex for the visitors. |
